“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” – Jane Goodall

Do you have a WHY?

Do you know why you do what you do and why does this even matter anyways?

Today, I’m going to share with you my why, and if you’re not super happy with where you’re at in your life right now, or maybe you’re aware that you would just like some things to change. I hope this video inspires you to reconnect with your why, as this is always a great place to come back to and align with who you are and why you are here.

If you don’t know me, my name is Marci Stockton. I’m a life coach and I help highly empathic heart centered women, reprogram their mind, and really learn how to make themselves a priority in their lives through self empowerment strategies.

Watch this weeks YouTube video here:

A couple of weeks ago, I was receiving a massage with a new massage therapist, and to get to know me, she started asking me a few questions, like what do I do? And things like that.

So as I began telling her that I’m a life coach and I work with women, empowering women, she asked me, “Well, what is your why?” And it really was an amazing question because it gave me an opportunity to just speak from my heart and reconnect with my why, and why I do what I do. And that’s what I would like to share with you today.

At the age of 17, I became a mom and my why was born. I knew that when they placed this beautiful baby girl in my arms and my heart burst open, and I had never experienced a love like that in my life. When I looked into her little blue eyes, I made a promise to her that I was going to give her a different life than the one I had known.

And I just had this knowing wash over me that it was up to me to break the cycle. I remember distinctly thinking ‘IT ENDS WITH ME!’.

I spent the next several years dedicated to learning all I could learn about motherhood, about parenting and about doing things in a different way than had been shown to me.

I took courses and classes, saw counselors and went to parenting groups, and really just did everything I possibly could to give my children a safe and loving home.

On the surface, everything appeared to be going really well. And for the most part, it was however, at age 35, I crashed and burned and hit total burnout!!

Even though I’d been working so hard to be a good wife and to be the best mom I could possibly be to my four children, I had never actually dealt with the trauma from my own childhood.

When I became a mom, it was like, I took the trauma and wrapped it up into this neat little ball and put it off to the side and said, ‘I have more important things to deal with.’

I have a baby girl to raise and I never looked at the trauma again.

And after sleepless night, after sleepless night, feeling so stressed, and having such bad anxiety. Feeling completely broken, and lost, and disconnected from my true self, I began searching for a better way.

That’s when my journey of self discovery and healing and learning to empower myself began.

As I dove into my own healing journey and began peeling back the layers of uncovering why I felt like something was wrong with me, I began to realize that nothing was actually wrong with me, but I was being affected by this unhealed trauma that was existing within me.

As I started healing this trauma and feeling more and more like myself all the time, I realized that I actually wasn’t just here to change the trajectory for my own family.

I was here to create an impact on a larger scale.

That by healing my own trauma, and overcoming all that I had overcome, I was actually here to empower other women to heal their own lives too.

As I shared my story with other women and gave my trauma a voice, Marci Stockton Wellness was born.

By empowering other women and serving in this capacity, my WHY grew into not only being the example for my children, but also to help other women just like me, take their power back.

It was very healing for me to know that all that I had been through, and all the pain and suffering that I had experienced, wasn’t for nothing.

It gave my pain a purpose and became the driving force behind my why.

When I realized that by making myself a priority and healing my own life, the ripple effect became so much greater than I could even comprehend.

By healing my own life and empowering others to do the same, I believe one by one, we will heal as a whole.

And that to me is a mission worth fighting for.
